Description
ATA Employment Solutions (Formerly Center Point Business Solutions) is accepting applications for a VP of Accounting for a well-established Manufacturing facility in Jackson, TN. This position plans and directs accounting activities and reports directly to the President of the company. *Please note that ATA Employment Solutions is not a staffing or temporary agency.

FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience & education
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, short & long term disability, vacation, & paid holidays
Location: Must live in Jackson, TN or the surrounding area or must be willing to relocate

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; CPA preferred but not required. At least 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
  2. Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports such as the balance sheet, income statement, and percent complete costing summary. 
  3. Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  4. Reviews journal entries, loan SBA disbursements, accounts payable, cash receipts and reconciliations for accuracy as well as purchasing.  Works with the Customer Service Dept. that processes all AR Invoices for the company and in the collections process if required.
  5. Verifies proper application of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  6. Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
  7. Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely project costing, which includes working with the project manager and Engineering Manager on tracking the actual costs.
  8. Directs and participates in cost analysis and rate studies for use in setting manufacturing overhead rates and assisting sales with accurate costs for product pricing.
  9. Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues such as working with Sales Department to prepare annual sales and income forecasts.
  10. Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  11. Responsible for all treasury functions for the company (banking relationships, which include loan requirements, wire transfers, the monitoring of multiple bank accounts) and required bank reporting.
  12. Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
  13. Reviews financial statements with management personnel, which includes weekly, monthly, and on an annual basis.
  14. Member of the Management Team whose focus is to improve customer service, product quality, and profitability of the company as a whole.
  15. Secretary/Treasurer for the company.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
