Title:Community Relations Director

Center Point is accepting applications for a Community Relations Director for the Obion County Joint Economic Development Corporation.  If you have a passion for community and fostering relationships within the community, this may be the perfect position for you!  The Community Relations Director works closely with businesses within Obion County as well as representing Obion County at trade shows, tourism meetings, and conventions.  Ideal candidates should have experience in marketing or public relations (including social media), great communication skills, and exceptional organization skills.  The applicant must be an Obion County resident or willing to relocate to Obion County upon hire.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $38,000 - $45,000/year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with members, potential members and the community.
    1. Actively recruiting new members and obtaining sponsors. 
    2. Responsible for new member campaigns, orientation/on-boarding.
    3. Maintain accurate member records in all databases with up-to-date information.
    4. Coordinate annual membership billing and collections (COC & OCIDC).
    5. Responsible for handling delinquent/canceled memberships.
  • Assist with developing and executing retail recruitment strategy. 
    1. Maintain a catalog and working knowledge of the Obion County area available properties.
    2. Maintain retail contact list and follow up on leads generated within 30 days (leads ranked).
    3. Develop a quarterly retail newsletter to share with the community and retail developers.
    4. Represent Obion County at trade shows and retail meetings.
  • Assist with developing and executing the organization's marketing and public relations strategy. 
    1. Develop and execute social media strategy.
    2. Create Annual Report publication and Obion County Magazine.
    3. Develop print and digital informational pieces promoting Obion County.
    4. Manage the Obion County website (possibly a separate tourism website).
    5. Produce an annual marketing plan, outlining specific sales and marketing objectives.
  • Assist with developing and overseeing member benefits, programing, and events. 
    1. Organize events monthly VIBE, the Golf Tournament, the Chamber Banquet, etc.
    2. Organize and cultivate Ambassador program
    3. Act as a liaison with Young Professionals of Obion County (possibly a non-voting member)
    4. Assist with developing events that make our community a desirable place to live.


  • Assist with developing and executing events that will drive tourism revenue for our county.
    1. Maintain a working knowledge and relationship with area hotels, venues, and event centers.
    2. Represent Obion County at selected trade shows, tourism meetings, FAMS, and conventions.
    3. Maintain a contact list of potential visitors/residents and conference/meeting opportunities, and follow up on leads generated within 30 days (leads ranked).
  • Represent the organization in a positive and productive manner in the community.
    1. When available, give back to the community by volunteering and serving through non-profits and civic organizations.
    2. Understand that all actions and communication, verbal and written, represents our organization.
