Description

Center Point is accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician in Northwest, TN.  The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the plant and equipment perform to the required standard to achieve production targets, cost, quality, and delivery.  The Maintenance Technician works with multiple areas and requires a high degree of self-direction.  The Maintenance Technician should have strong mechanical and electrical skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40,000-$62,500 per year, depending on experience
Benefits:  available after 90-days including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, profit sharing, life insurance, vacation, paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Obtain orders
  • Confer with the operator to observe, test, and evaluates the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose a malfunction
  • Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repairs
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear
  • Repair, replace, adjust, and align components of machinery
  • Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently pushes and pulls 20-30 pounds of force in moving machinery parts
  • Constant use of tools weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Test runs repaired machinery
  • Fabricate replacement parts
  • Weld broken parts, fabricate new parts and assembles
  • Repair or replaces electrical wiring
  • Lubricate and inspect machinery
  • Clean equipment, order parts and maintain records
Required Experience:
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Knowledge of powered tools
  • The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged
  • The ability to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions
