Description
ATA Employment Solutions is accepting applications for a Forklift Technician for a well established facility in Memphis, TN that has been providing solutions for industrial and construction clients in the Mid-South since 1947. This position will be responsible for performing maintenance, overhaul, and other repairs on customer and Delta owned equipment in the facility. Successful passing of a pre-employment drug test, background check with a clean driving record, and non-DOT physical will be a contingency of the job offer.

Job Type:
 Full-time, non-exempt
Salary: $18-$24 per hour depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with the possibility of overtime

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair and or rebuild gas, propane, diesel and electric powered lift trucks and related equipment following industry best practice and/or manufacturers service documentation
  • Be able to test, troubleshoot and repair and/or rebuild pumps, valves, hydraulic cylinders, engines, transmissions, drive axles and electric motors
  • Interact with shop foreman to relay any issues or problems and the solution
  • Write work orders clearly and accurately
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • When necessary, order and follow up on needed parts
  • Log work time to the work order
  • Follow up daily on all work in process
  • Follow all customer and Delta Material Handling, Inc. safety rules and regulations
  • Work in a safe and courteous manner following standard repair practice and procedures
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by management
Qualification Requirements:
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience as a maintenance technician, apprentice or the equivalent
  • Must be able to make repairs with quality results with little or no supervision
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of communication and organizational skills to include the ability to apply logic and constructive thinking to solve problems
  • Must be able to use and understand measuring tools such as: a ruler or tape measure, micrometer, calipers, feeler gauges, depth gauges, multi-meter, ohmmeter, pressure gauges and compression gauges etc.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Provide effective oral and written communications 
  • An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and work within the confines of the established or quoted times for the repairs of the equipment

  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, or move up to 50 pounds
